What to Pack for a Cruise in Masuria? The Complete 2027 List

A yacht is a small floating apartment. Space is limited, and some equipment is already on board. So you don't pack too much (or too little), we've put together a list checked by seasoned sailors.
What does the owner provide?
On MUNDI CZARTER yachts you'll find on board: a full set of dishes and cutlery, pots and pans, a gas bottle and stove, mooring lines, lifebuoys and life jackets, a chemical toilet and cleaning supplies. So you don't need to pack kitchen equipment or basic safety gear.
Clothing and footwear
- Rain jacket / foul-weather gear – even in July evenings can be cool, and Lake Śniardwy can catch you by surprise.
- Warm fleece or hoodie – for an evening cruise or morning coffee in the cockpit.
- T-shirts (2–3 per day), shorts, swimwear.
- Shoes with white (non-marking) soles – mandatory. Dark soles scratch the yacht's deck.
- Flip-flops for the marina (once off the yacht).
- A cap and sunglasses – sunlight reflects strongly off the water.
Sleeping on board – what to bring for sleeping?
The yacht provides berths (sleeping places), but bedding and sleeping bags are the crew's responsibility. In Masuria, even in summer, nights can be cool, especially on open waters and in stronger winds.
- Sleeping bag – essential. A summer sleeping bag rated to about +5°C will do. It's worth bringing one per person.
- Pillow or an inflatable travel pillow – a standard home pillow is often too bulky for yacht berths.
- Light blanket or fleece throw – useful as an extra layer on cooler evenings and mornings.
- Bed sheet – optional, if you'd rather not sleep directly in the sleeping bag.
We recommend compression sleeping bags (in a compression sack) – they take up considerably less space when luggage room is limited.
Food and kitchen
- Supplies for 2–3 days (easy to restock at ports along the way).
- Coffee, tea, sugar, salt, oil – the basics.
- Easy-to-prepare products: pasta, rice, tinned food, eggs, sliced bread.
- Snacks for the trip: nuts, energy bars, fruit.
- Drinking water – you can top up the yacht's tank at every marina.
Hygiene and first-aid kit
- Towels – not provided by the yacht.
- SPF 30+ sunscreen.
- Mosquito repellent – for the evenings, especially near reedy shores.
- A basic first-aid kit: plasters, painkillers, something for diarrhoea and nausea.
- Seasickness medication – useful on Lake Śniardwy in strong wind, even for experienced sailors.
Documents and money
- ID card (required for the charter contract).
- Sailing licence – required on every yacht in our fleet. More: Sailing licence in Masuria.
- Cash – many small marinas and kiosks still don't accept cards.
- Booking confirmation (email or printout).
Electronics and navigation
- Smartphone with the zegluj.pl app – the most convenient navigation on Polish lakes. Up-to-date maps of the Great Masurian Lakes, markers and depths right on your phone.
- A power bank – sockets on the yacht are limited.
- A waterproof bag or phone case.
- A camera or action camera – Masuria is gorgeous!
What NOT to bring?
- Heavy suitcases – bring a backpack or sports bag instead. There's no room on the yacht for hard-shell suitcases.
- Too much glassware – it breaks in the waves.
- Expensive jewellery – easy to lose overboard.
- Too many clothes – you can do laundry at ports or during stops.
